Functional Family Therapist

Description:

The therapist will provide, at a minimum, weekly one-hour, home-based family therapy sessions to clients. The therapist will utilize the FFT model with clients and families from the African American Communities. This is a full-time position and the therapist will be required to carry a caseload of 12 to 15 families. The position requires flexibility in hours to meet families when they are available. We have robust training for a therapist with no prior FFT experience but are interested in working with this community.

Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work with people from different backgrounds and cultures. Knowledge of electronic record keeping. Strong organization and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to internalize and work within the FFT philosophy and model

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Licensed in the state of Minnesota (LPCC, LICSW, LMFT, etc.)

  • Clinical Trainees with a master’s degree and working towards licensure

  • Experience working with African American families is preferred

  • Experience conducting intake and Diagnostic Assessment

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Complete intake, diagnostic assessment, and treatment planning compliant with Rule 47 guidelines

  • Provide home-based FFT to African American clients and families

  • Assist families with both clinical and concrete service and actively referring them to appropriate services and supports

  • Complete all required paperwork consistent with DHS and Ramsey County requirements

  • Maintain regular contact with families, probation officers, case managers, child protection workers, and other county staff.

  • Build and maintain a caseload of 12-15 clients and consistently meet productivity expectations

  • Perform other duties as assigned
