Independent Living Skills Worker


The "Independent Living Skills Worker" ​trains and assists individuals with a mental health illness so they can remain successfully in their homes and community.


Experience working with individuals with a physical/mental disability, basic computer skills, and able to work efficiently with a team, as well as, individual with minimal direction.


  • Must have at least a high school diploma equivalent with experience working with adults with mental health difficulties and diagnosis.


  • Meet with clients as agreed upon between you and the child/child’s family.

  • Assist client/residents with the activities of daily living as needed and appropriately implement.

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming and hair washing, necessary for personal hygiene.

  • Support client in the development of their independent living skills in the areas of budgeting, meal preparation, personal appearance and other community integration areas.

  • Work with the client to create opportunities that can foster their ability to live independently and become a productive member of their community. Assist with medication management and provide medication administration when needed.

  • Accompanying client/residents to medical appointments.
