Job Description
Programs requiring 24-hour supervision may be designed with a live-in employee providing the overnight supervision and support. The live-in is responsible for assistance and support of those living at the program and may include direct care responsibilities as necessary during the nighttime hours.
The live-in employee is considered a member of the direct service team. He/she will encourage a normal home environment recognizing the privacy of the individuals living at the site. The live in works cooperatively with all employees to meet the needs of the individuals and the household.
''The Live In Agreement'' details the rules of the house and standards of behavior expected from the live in employee. Each ''The Live In Agreement'' is specific to the 24-hour site and is developed by the program coordinator and program director according to the needs and desires of the people served.
Responsibilities
- Responds to health needs and emergency situations during the night. This may include medical treatments and complaints, medical, fire, behavioral, and weather emergencies.
- Communicate matters of importance verbally or via communication book. Situations may require communication between employees and Live In when the Live In is not on duty.
- Acceptable and appropriate role model for the people living at the site.
- Meet foster licensing requirements, annual training requirements (including CPR) required in-service hours and attend employee meetings.
- Complete all documentation: Accident/Incident Reports, Health Program Notes, Entries, and Vulnerable Individual Reports.
Job Functions
Be present at site and able to respond to individual's direct service needs during sleep hours.
Qualifications
Must High school diploma or equivalent and be physically able to promptly respond to needs of individual during sleep time.
